The Tipton Place was a log cabin built in the 1880s. The paneling was added later. Homes were built using logs before saw mills. After saw mills, homes were built using lumber and frame construction. Most log home owners added lumber siding to hide the old fashioned cabins. This area includes a carriage house, smokehouse, woodshed, and double-cantilever barn. It is located in The Great Smoky Mountains Cade Cove area in Tennessee.
